Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Concierge Care of Southern Indiana?

Concierge medicine goes by many names. Some of these are subscription medicine, retainer medicine, Direct Patient Care (DPC), or concierge medicine.  All of these are variations to an approach to medical practice where patients receive exclusive access, enhanced services, or amenities by physicians in a more upscale type of practice setting.  These enhanced services are paid through a nominal annual membership fee.

  • What are the benefits of Concierge Medicine?

Because our doctors see fewer patients each day, they have more time for you. Our highly regarded doctors will work with you to develop a personalized healthcare plan. During your visit, you’ll enjoy an in-depth discussion of your health with your physician, with time to provide detailed answers to any questions you may have. Our physicians can provide unparalleled expertise on a range of medical issues.  By accessing the Concierge practice, member patients have near-instant access to private physicians in the program and receive enhanced services such as same-day or next-day appointments, periodic preventive care examinations, and comprehensive health and wellness information.

  • What is included in the membership?

Concierge Care of Southern Indiana (CCSI) provides enhanced access to the doctors in the practice at a time convenient to you. Our physicians limit their practices to a maximum of around 300 patients so they can provide you their undivided attention, superior preventive medical care, and detailed wellness education. Other features include:

    • An extensive, periodic medical review and physical examination to include individualized wellness planning
    • Same- or next-day appointments for injury and illness treatment
    • 24/7 direct access to a concierge medicine physician via telephone and email for non-urgent matters
    • Dedicated case management – working together with patients, families, and clinicians, we provide the assistance needed to coordinate and expedite services through the complexities of modern healthcare to ensure superior outcomes for your particular healthcare needs
    • Continuity of care whether you are in the office, hospital, or another facility
    • Enhanced in-office screening labs and procedures not covered by standard insurance
    • ALWAYS seeing a physician and never seeing a mid-level provider
  • How much is the membership fee?

We treat every person in CCSI individually and give them full access to all services and amenities associated with the program. Yearly membership is $2,750.00 per individual for the first family member, with a discounted rate of $2,250 applied to a spouse desiring to join the concierge practice.

Fees may be paid monthly, quarterly, or yearly by direct deposit or automatic credit card debit

Fees for children of current members are individualized with the practice based on their ages and medical needs.

  • What if I need care when the office is closed?

Your doctor will be available by cell phone or text whenever needed.  You will be provided with their direct cell phone number once you become a member of the practice.  On the rare occasions, your personal physician is unavailable, their calls and texts will be directly forwarded to the covering concierge doctor. It’s comforting to know you have access to the highest quality of patient care at any time, day or night.

  • What if I need a specialist?

By being a member of this exclusive concierge practice, your physician and his staff will personally arrange expedited visits to the specialist you may need.  CCSI will help you navigate through the healthcare spectrum so your specific healthcare needs can be met.

  • Will I receive a preventative physical exam as a member?

Yes, a comprehensive preventive care examination is provided to you annually as long as you maintain your membership. This visit will provide enhanced screening labs, body composition analyzer providing standard outputs like Percent Body Fat, Skeletal Muscle Mass, and BMR, plus total body water, visceral fat assessment, and other vital measurements.  In addition, we will provide in-office EKGs, Pulmonary function testing, exercise treadmills, and other services as medically indicated. Our physicians are committed to providing you preventive wellness and fitness care in our state-of-the-art healthcare setting.

  • How can I track my care?

We will be utilizing an electronic medical record system with a patient portal allowing you access to your records anytime, anywhere there is internet access.

  • How do I join?

Becoming a part of our Concierge Medicine program is easy. You can complete the online forms or call or email our office, and we can mail you an information packet.

  • Does becoming a member replace my current insurance?

No. Membership in CCSI is not a replacement for your health insurance.  Membership provides additional services above and beyond what typical insurance plans cover.  We will continue to bill your current insurance for covered services allowing you to meet deductibles or co-pays if you have to see a specialist or have a procedure performed in another healthcare setting.  Your membership fees will cover all services performed from our office

  • Does my insurance cover the membership fee?

No, this fee is not covered by your health insurer. This fee allows you access to your personal concierge physician.  The membership fee may in some plans be paid through HSA’s or flexible spending accounts; however, you would need to check the details of your benefit plan

  • Can I meet with the physician before joining?

Absolutely. We at CCSI believe that a positive physician/patient relationship is a key source of your good health. So, we invite prospective members to start building that relationship even before they become members. After speaking with you about your particular needs, we will schedule a consultation to meet one of our CCSI physicians at no cost to you. Spending time with your future partner in health will enable you to discuss your goals and concerns and learn about your physician’s medical expertise and philosophy.

  • Where is the office located?

The office is conveniently located at 500 LaFollette Dr. in Floyds Knobs.  Members enjoy easy access and free parking.  The upscale office provides many services like blood samples, EKG’s, treadmill exams, pulmonary function testing, and body composition analysis in-house, minimizing your time for additional travel and waits
